Amanda Edgar

Interior Designer

I am inspired by the love of color and architecture, the feel of fabrics, and even the smell of leather and wood, all of which motivate me to use my passion for design to help others achieve happiness at home. I have a wealth of knowledge in fine hand crafted furniture, restorations and a discerning eye for color coordination.

Born and raised in Sonoma County, I appreciate the beauty of the vast stretches of agricultural land and open space that allows me to lead an active lifestyle. I am involved with local organizations in hopes of making a contribution to a stronger and more beautiful community. I am finishing up an AA degree in Interior Design at the Junior College, planning to accomplish a Bachelor’s Degree and become a certified Interior Designer.

With an affinity for classic forms and close attention to detail, texture and color permeate a sophisticated and elegant approach to functional living environments, whether it is new and trendy or classic and traditional. Often my projects begin with only one or two rooms and develop into full scale designs and renovations. My clients benefit from my attention to detail, my enthusiastic energy and my ability to translate my clients’ lifestyle and preferences into inspiring and functional spaces.

  • Casual and chic living and dining area by Pedersen's Furniture company.
    Casual Dining & Living Area
Sophisticated, Chic and Comfortable by designer Amanda Edgar The Goal The goal for my clients room in her new downsized home was to create a living dining entry way that was cohesive and allowed the use of a pair of Metamorphosis lamps from Currey and Co. that she fell in love with while wondering around our showroom. The Challenge Great rooms can be nice, but sometimes it is difficult to create both cohesion and distinction between the different living areas. Creating virtual walls by way of furniture placement can be rewarding and challenging. Living, dining and entry all needed to be addressed in this project. The Success Story Working in stages, we completed the three spaces with much happiness and joy. Starting with the dining room, the inspiration (besides the buffet lamps) came from a Nichols and Stone credenza in a painted, rubbed black finish with an amber stained top. I accompanied the credenza and lamps with a farm style table from Amish furniture crafters Borkholder, with Stickley upholstered arm and side chairs. The next faze was the living room. My client could now host beautiful dinners but need a place for before and after socialization. So once again another trip to the store and she fell in love with the Keeler sofa. The Keeler sofa and loveseat were upholstered in a beautiful silk blend fabric in a warm gold tone. Next I chose the Lennox chair in a linen blend fabric with a gold fleck to round of the conversation area grounded by the Jamawar rug from Stickley, the ivory, golds, corals and soft greens really made a statement with the rest of the rich decor. The finishing touches came from the Artistica glass and metal etagere which divided the living and dining room along with a coordinatin cocktail table and nesting tables for decor and drinks. The complete space resulted in a elegant functional home for entertaining and enjoying. Living Room Designed for Style, Comfort & Entertaining
Designed For Style, Comfort & Entertaining by designer Amanda Edgar The Goal Create an elegant yet comfortable living/family room for my clients to enjoy while watching television in addition to entertaining. The Challenge Incorporate my clients treasured antiques into a design that allows them to be appreciated amongst the newer comfortable furnishings. The Success Story While visiting our showroom, my clients fell in love with our conversation sofa by Century Furniture. They felt its comfort and size were perfect for their space. They allowed me the opportunity to put together a comprehensive plan with beautiful fabrics, accent pieces and rugs that would elevate the room for style, comfort and entertaining. A Miles Talbot leather chair and ottoman in a vintaged brown leather worked well to bridge the existing antiques with the new. A large ottoman in the sofa fabric allowed the customer to create a chaise lounge for relaxing or as a cocktail table for gatherings. The result was just what my clients were looking for.
